Online advertising is a great way to build your business and increase its exposure to those who would otherwise be unaware your company even exists. Though this may surprise some business owners across America, a large number of smaller companies across the country just beginning to utilize inbound marketing do not know that some advertising on Google, such as on Google My Business, is free.
Since Google is always searching for ways to increase the validity of the local search results provided by the website — and the accuracy of the Google Maps application — Google offers small businesses a simple way to provide the website with important information about their stores and/or services, which Google can infuse directly into the website’s search engine. What are the benefits? Basically, this is a way small businesses can advertise for free on Google. This boosts your company’s business through searches on the website, which increases the amount of leads, customers, and traffic.
Setting Up Free Advertising on Google
To get started with the setting up of your free listing on Google My Business, there are a few pieces of information you will need available to initiate the process. First, you will need to briefly describe your business in written format. Next, you will need to add in your website, address, phone number, hours and days of operation, along with any other pertinent contact information you want shared with potential clients. Also, have an image or logo that accurately and positively represents your company.
After you have all of this information available, go to http://www.google.com/business to complete setting up your company with Google My Business. Then, click on the ‘Get on Google‘ link, which is located under the text, “Get your business on Google for free.” If you already have a Google account, the Google My Account will automatically link itself to it. Otherwise, you may be forced to create a new listing for your business. The page will them prompt you to input address, phone number, and category of business into the provided box on the screen.
Should your business be online in nature, move toward the bottom of the page and put a checkmark in the box next to the phrase “I deliver goods and services to my customers at their location.” Google My Business then requires you to confirm your business’ name and contact information, say yes to Google’s Terms of Service, verify with Google your business is in fact legitimate, and then finish the process by finishing up the listing information for your company.
