A User’s Experience With the Dynamic Job Board – Part 2/3

A 15-year customer of Virtual Systems recently migrated from our legacy Mail Shop system to our newly updated Midnight Print & Mail MIS. We had the opportunity to speak with Direct Connection’s founder John Hodgman about the migration process and his comparison of the two systems. His response: “Midnight is like Mail Shop on steroid!”

Of all the features of Midnight, the one he and his staff found to be the most powerful was the Dynamic Job Board. This tool gives users a clean, visual overview of the current project, their status and location. This one feature has become the must-have support for the Direct Connection’s team. While the Dynamic Job Board offers many benefits, there are four that really stood out for this company:

  1. “Our company has six distinct departments and we customized our job board to include them. All projects go through at least three of these departments, and most utilize four, five, or all six of them,” Mr. Hodgman explained. The ability to customize the dynamic job board to our specific operations allows it to meet our exact needs.
  2. Drop Dates. “We have over 100 active projects at any given time, and we need to know their drop dates. This system tells us this information at a glance.” Mr. Hodgeman went on to explain, “The visual dashboard is very well designed. The system also allows us to update an order on the fly and communicate these changes quickly and easily to others. The staff doesn’t have to track someone down to find out which department a project is in, they just look at the screen and they know.” Direct Connection marks the projects due immediately in red so that everyone understands the day’s priorities.
  3. Improved Workflow and Efficiencies. The Dynamic Job Board also dramatically improved our workflow and overall efficiencies. “We work more effectively and can get a project through the system and billed faster than ever before. This improves our cash flow, which is always a good thing.”
  4. Minimized Confusion and Chaos. “My People aren’t running around trying to get a verbal update on a project. The ability to always know where a job is within the system is a tremendous benefit to the overall operations of the company.”

The Dynamic Job Board component of Midnight Print & Mail MIS has had a powerful and positive impact on the operations of Direct Connection and can offer the same benefits to your company.
